Daughters of the Moon 1-4 by Lynne Ewing

4. The Secret Scroll

So far these books are pretty good. The story is really there, but sometimes I felt as if Ewing just copied and pasted passages from book 1 or 2 and pasted them into the other books. It wasn't a lot. 2, maybe 3 pages max and not all at once. There would just be paragraphs that sounded the exact same in previous books. Maybe that's not a big deal to most people, but to me every page counts and if I feel as though I've read something before I tend to skip down and I don't want to do that to do that to a book that I actually like. I'll just suck it up and deal with it since I like the story. I'm not really fond of the series being 13 books long. As long as the story sticks it should be okay, but 13 books seems kinda steep for a story to stick.

The characters in this series are actually pretty good too. Being that Jimena, Serena, Vanessa, and Catty are all high school girls you would think that they'd be all boy crazy. And to be honest they kinda are some times, but they aren't blind. They are fully aware of their situation being Daughters fighting the Followers and they are wary of the boys that they do date. They all seem to be on their toes except for Vanessa who is sort of annoying, but she's the most innocent one so she has some room to grow still.

These 4 books get an average of 3.5 or 4 out of 5. I'll be reading and reviewing 5-9 soon.
