Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkeles
After a year in juvenile jail, Caleb’s free . . . if freedom means endless nagging from a transition coach and the prying eyes of the entire town. Coming home should feel good, but his family and ex-girlfriend seem like strangers.
Caleb and Maggie are outsiders, pigeon-holed as "criminal" and "freak." Then the truth emerges about what really happened the night of the accident and, once again, everything changes. It’s a bleak and tortuous journey for Caleb and Maggie, yet they end up finding comfort and strength from a surprising source: each other.

See, Sabine isn’t just an ordinary girl. She’s a mara, the living personification of a nightmare. She can read people’s fears—and craft them into nightmares while her victims sleep. Feeding from human fear is how she survives.
And Sabine isn’t above scaring Kaylee and the entire school to death to get whatever—and whoever—she wants.
I DON’T THINK SO.

Black Butler vol. 1 & 2
Summary: When a terrible fire claims his parents, Ciel Phantomhive must step up as the head of his father's company and as Earl Phantomhive. It would be a lot for the young boy to handle were it not for his faithful butler, Sebastian. Ever at Ciel's side, it seems there's little Sebastian can't do, whether it's saving a dinner party gone awry or probing the dark secrets of London's underbelly. He's almost too good to be true...or at least, too good to be human...

After School Nightmare vol. 1 and Blackbird vol. 5
Summary: You have just awakened to find your darkest, ugliest secret revealed to classmates who would do anything to destroy you. This is what's happened to Ichijou Mashiro, whose elite school education turns into the most horrifying experience of his life when he's enlisted by a mysterious school nurse to take an after-hours class. Only those who pass the class will graduate, and the only way for Mashiro to pass is to enter into a nightmare world... where his body and soul will be at the mercy of his worst enemies. Can Mashiro keep his life-long secret - that he is not truly a "he" nor entirely a "she" - or will he finally be "outted" in the most humiliating way possible?

Summary: There is a world of myth and magic that intersects ours, and only a special few can see it. Misao Harada is one such person, and she wants nothing to do with magical realms. She just wants to have a normal high school life and maybe get a boyfriend. But she is the bride of demon prophecy, and her blood grants incredible powers, her flesh immortality. Now the demon realm is fighting over the right to her hand...or her life!
Misao thinks she's come to terms with being the bride of prophecy and dating a tengu lord, but is she ready to bear her handsome demon an heir?! Kyo's grandfather is impatient to secure the power of the prophecy and the line of succession, and he doesn't care which of his grandsons fathers Misao's baby. If Kyo doesn't act fast, he'll lose Misao and the leadership of the clan. But despite his desire for Misao, Kyo is hesitant to consummate their relationship, for that will bring about catastrophe...
Review: I really like this series, and every volume I read keeps reminding me why. I'm not big on how forceful Kyo is, but he never pushes Misao further than she's willing to go. The story itself is great and the art is just stunning. I cannot wait until Volume 6 is released in America so I can get my hands on that one. I've been borrowing them from a friend, but I really need to get copies of this fantastic series for myself.
Both volumes get 5 howls from me!

Snakecharm by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes
Syfka, an ancient falcon, has arrived from Ahnmik claiming that one of her people is hidden in their midst. The falcons are more powerful than the avians and serpiente combined, and Syfka shows nothing but contempt for Zane and Danica’s alliance. To Zane’s horror, his own people seem just as appalled as Syfka is by the thought of a mixed-blood child becoming heir to the throne. Is Syfka’s lost falcon just a ruse to stir up controversy among them? The truth lies somewhere in their tangled pasts—and the search will redefine Zane and Danica’s fragile future.

Kiss Me Deadly
Errant by Diana Peterfreund: I have so missed my unicorns. If you've read Rampant and you're waiting on Ascendent then I think you should pick this up. It isn't a whole book filled with people killing unicorns. It's more of how 2 people on opposite sides of society can become friends through a unicorn. I thought this story was very, very good.
The Spirit Jar by Karen Mahoney: I've never read anything by Karen before, but wow this story was good. I loved the main character's attitude. That's what caught me in the story before I even got into it. Any story that has "I heart Princess Leia. Sue me" in it gets major kudos from me. I really want to see if Karen uses this to make a series, or if she does a follow-up story in another antho.
Lost by Justine Musk: This was really sad. The ending was really beautiful, and I really hope Justine does more with this story in the future.
The Spy Who Never Grew Up by Sarah Rees Brennan: I really like reading new twists on familiar stories, and there is no more familiar of a story than Peter Pan. Yeah you heard me. I don't think I would want to see anything else come out of this story. It was a great story, but the attitude of the MC made me think that this was just going to be a short story in an anthology. Nothing more. I am very eager to read Sarah's other books. They sound really good, and I've heard good things. I just never picked them up. Now I want to read them very badly.
Dungeons of Langeais by Becca Fitzpatrick: A short story about Chauncey! Honestly I don't remember much of Hush, Hush and what I do remember doesn't have a lot to do with Chauncey, but I think I remember that it's his fault Patch and Nora are in the situation they're in. I was happy to read more about him just because he seemed to be a small character in Hush, Hush. The biggest thing I learned in this story is Chauncey has guts.
Behind the Red Door by Caitlin Kittredge: I'm still trying to figure out if I liked this story. I like the idea, but I don't like Jo. She annoyed me. I liked that this story had the whole love triangle thing going on. I guess Caitlin kinda cheated by skipping large periods of time, but I think it worked well. I liked the end a lot. So I guess I like this story, but it is no where near my favorite.
Hare Moon by Carrie Ryan: I was beyond excited when I found out this story was about Sister Tabitha. I didn't like the sisters in Forest, but I wanted to know more about them. This story gave me the insight I was looking for and now I pity Tabitha. I still don't like her, but now I understand. This is without a doubt one of my top stories.
Familiar by Michelle Rowen: I think this might be my favorite. It was such a cute story, and if you want a swoon worthy man then look no further than Owen. I hope there are more stories or a series coming from this so we can see more of Brenda's life as a witch. That would make me super happy.
Fearless by Rachel Vincent: This is just under Familiar for my favorite. If you haven't read the series then you'll probably be okay with Nash in this story, but personally I wanted to punch him. I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be pre-Kaylee and everything, but my opinion of Nash was never really high. I liked Sabine though. I thought she had a great attitude and I want to learn more about maras.
Vermillion by Daniel Marks: I thought the premise of this story was interesting, but overall it was too confusing for me to read and enjoy. I really wanted to like it, and I'll be checking out more of Daniel's stuff to see if it was his writing or just this particular story.
The Hounds of Ulster by Maggie Stiefvater: More faeries! I am a bigger fan of Maggie's faerie books than I am of her wolf books so when I read this I was super excited. Of course now I'm sad because who knows if she'll pick up fey again, but if I ever need a reminder of her wonderful, magical world I can always read Lament, Ballad, and this wonderful short.
Many Happy Returns by Daniel Waters: This was another really beautiful, but really sad story. I've heard of Daniel's Generation Dead books and I want to read them. Reading this story made me want to read them that much more.

But how can she convince Edwart to bite her and transform her into his eternal bride, especially when he seems to find girls so repulsive?
