Destiny of the Wolf and Legend of the White Wolf by Terry Spear

Summary: All she wants is the truth…
Lelandi Wildhaven is determined to discover the truth about her beloved sister's mysterious death. But everyone thinks she's out to make a bid for her sister's widowed mate…

He's a pack leader tormented by memories…
Darien Silver blames himself for his mate's death. When her twin arrives in his town, he finds himself bewitched, and when someone attempts to silence her, he realizes that protecting the beautiful stranger might be the only way to protect his pack—and himself… (Destiny of the Wolf)

Cameron arrives in the Canadian Arctic to search for his partners in his P.I. business who are late returning from a hunting trip. Faith is there to discover what her father had seen in the same area years earlier that had made him lose touch with reality—man-wolves, he called them.

The two tumble into an icy world of enemies bent on destroying the lupus garou kind. As they turn into lupus garou themselves, and bond with the pack that only they can rescue from destruction, Cameron and Faith find their soul mates in each other. (Legend of the White Wolf)

Review: In Destiny of the Wolf I loved the idea of dream-mating, and this book might be my favorite in the series simply because it brings up the question, "What if you mate the wrong person?" Not everyone gets a do-over like Darien did, but it was interesting how Terry managed to work the story. And the bit about Larissa? That was sad. I agree with Lelandi when she said her sister didn't deserve that. She might have done some stupid stuff, but no one deserves to die.

Legend of the White Wolf was harder for me to get into. It was good, but I couldn't get into the beginning. Once the story picked up though it was quite good. I was kind of hoping the idea of dream-mating was going to continue, but no such luck. It was neat having this story start out with humans instead of wolves though. I thought that was a nice touch. I read this book right after Destiny of the Wolf, but I know there is a book between them. I was just too impatient to wait for it to come in. I'm kind of glad I did go ahead and read Legend of the White Wolf because one of the minor characters in Destiny shows himself in Legend which made me smile.

Hi, Kim, thanks for the terrific reviews! To Tempt the Wolf is in between Legend of the White Wolf and Destiny of the Wolf, and if you are referring to Leidolf as the minor character, he has his own story in Seduced by the Wolf (book 5). :)

I do have more dream mating in book 8 (Dreaming of the Wolf, Jake from Destiny of the Wolf's story). :)

Thanks again!! :)
