Where The Wolves Read

A blog where I review mostly books. I also review, if my appetite allows, movies, music, and video games. Enjoy the feast!

Fireproof novelization by Eric Wilson

Well I've been wanting to read this book ever since i heard of it. I knew about the movie and I wanted to see it, and I wanted to read the book. Mrs. Becky let me borrow it and I will always be super grateful for it.First here's a synopsis. There's a firefighter named Caleb who has a wife named Cathrine and they've been married for 7 years. Well their marriage is screwed up. Hands down. She begs for help around the house and he begs for respect because he saves people's lives. It gets to the point when they both want a divorce. Caleb asks his dad for advice and help. His dad sends a book he wrote up called The Love Dare. It's a 40 day journey to try to help spark your marriage back up. It starts with easy things such as not saying anything negative for a whole day to more difficult things like prepare a romantic evening.Throughout the book, Caleb struggles with doing the tasks in the book when divorce is looming over his marriage and his home. No I'm not going to give any spoilers, but i will say that even at page 200 of this 284 page beauty i was really worried about the condition of their marriage. Overall this book was very sad, yet compelling. It's one of those books that you can't put down because you want to see what happens. Definitely any person in a relationship should read. 5/5
