Gosh it took me so long to finish this book. First off the characters are just pathetic. Jer knows that he is in a family of dark warlocks, and yet he's shocked to find that his brother and father kill people. What?!? Alright and the girls are just slow. I got sick of reading about them after chapter 1.
It's an interesting premise though. Dark witches vs even darker warlocks. It's quite different from the good vs bad that I'm used to reading even though Holly's coven is meant to represent the "good". It's also interesting that in this big feud between the Cahors and the Deveraux, the magic wielders in the Cahor's coven are mostly female and the magic wielders in the Deveraux's coven are mostly male. I wonder if that will come up later.
Apparently the cats are important to the story. I mean since they're all named after goddesses I would hope so. Though you don't really get that in the story. They're just there and they appear to be interacting with Holly in a magical way, but it's never really clear what their importance is.
Overall it's not that good. This "captivating series" failed to captivate me. I might finish reading the books only to see what happens. I liked Curse more than Witch so maybe it will only go up from here.
