Summary: Ever since Harry Potter had come home for the summer, the Dursleys were so mean and hideous that all Harry wanted was to get back to the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. But just as he's packing his bags, Harry receives a warning from a strange, impish creature named Dobby who says that if Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts, disaster will strike.
And strike it does. For in Harry's second year at Hogwarts, fresh torments and horrors arise, including an outrageously stuck-up new professor and a spirit who haunts the girls' bathroom. But then the real trouble begins--someone is turning Hogwarts students to stone. Could it be Draco Malfoy, a more poisonous rival than ever? Could it possibly be Hagrid, whose mysterious past is finally told? Or could it be the one everyone at Hogwarts most suspects...Harry Potter himself!
Review: I freaking love Dobby! He isn't a favorite character, but he's such a cute one. It's hard to stay mad at him for almost killing Harry through most of this book. I like the new elements that come with CoS. You really get to learn more about the history of Hogwarts and of the four Houses. You also learn more about Voldemort which is always very exciting. I've been brushing up on my snake-language, but if there was anyway I could really learn how to speak it I think that would be really cool. Even though I'm not Slytherin I still think it would be a really neat thing to learn. I loved the Polyjuice Potion bit and I enjoyed Moaning Myrtle more now than I did when I was a kid. This is yet another wonderful book in this amazing series. I have really been enjoying these re-reads a lot.
