I'm going to be sharing a few petitions in batches like this. This first post is going to highlight petitions that tie into the donation posts from last week.
The first petition is Justice for George Floyd. The original goal for this petition was to put heat on the government to charge the officer who murdered George Floyd and the other officers who didn't try to assist George. The officers have already been arrested, but it's still important to sign petitions like this anyway so everyone, not just people in MN, can see how much support is being given to cases like George Floyd's.
The next petition is for Breonna Taylor. One of the main focuses of this petition is to pressure the Kentucky Governor to arrest the police officers who killed Breonna. The "no-knock" warrants are an abuse of power and that is what ultimately lead to Breonna's death. Cops should not be allowed to enter a person's home without a warrant.
The last petition is for Ahmaud Arbery. Ahmaud was gunned down by white men who made assumptions about Ahmaud. The men who killed Ahmaud have been arrested, but it needs to be made clear that no one should take the law into their own hands. There is still a lot of racial tension, and even cops aren't able to make good judgment calls. Two random white men should never have gone after a Black man in any situation.
