Petitions Part 2

Life for a Life is a petition trying to get mandatory life sentences issued to cops who engage in police brutality that ends in murder. Too often cops are given a pass on their behavior because they hide behind a badge or sirens. They should be held accountable for their actions like any other citizen.

Justice for Joao Pedro is a petition for a Brazilian boy who was killed by police. There are conflicting statements about what happened to Joao. Locals say there has been a sharp increase in the number of police killings since Governor of Rio de Janeiro made a statement about killing people to end crime. Statements like that only further incite needless violence.

Justice for Tamir Rice is for a case that involved an officer last year. Tamir was playing in a park when he was killed by an officer in training. This petition is to try to get a prosecutor who isn't biased to take this case and present it to a jury in hopes that charges will be filed against the officer involved.
